The full routine, taught from Jonathan's POV.
Every nuance of the Stranger as a complete performance piece — from initial framing to the moment the spectator hands back the phone. Walk-throughs, scripting, troubleshooting, and the small choices that make the difference between a trick and an experience.

Everything you might want to know.
What is Auto Advance, and when does it kick in?
Auto Advance is the reliability layer. When you initiate a Stranger call, every active Stranger in your selected region receives the request simultaneously. The first to accept takes the call.
If no one accepts within the timeout window, Auto Advance rolls to the next priority tier — and if needed, falls all the way through to a pre-recorded conversation. The reveal always happens. Your spectator never sees a failure.
Can I create my own recordings and convincers?
Yes — three ways. The built-in library covers every playing card. You can record your own conversations directly in the app: open Recordings → Custom and capture your voice for any reveal you can imagine — zodiacs, names, words, custom voicemails, disconnect tones.
You can also browse the community catalog, where other Strangers share their recordings with each other. Use what others have made, or contribute your best work for them.
Custom recordings sync across your devices and are available offline once downloaded.
How many languages and regions does the app support?
The Stranger ships with 30 languages and 47 regions. The phone screens, ringtones, voicemail prompts, and disconnect tones all adapt to whichever region you've selected — so when you hand the phone to a spectator in Tokyo, Madrid, or São Paulo, what they see and hear matches their world.
How do I become a Stranger myself?
Strangers are vetted from active members of the community. Once you've been a paid member for a few months and have engaged in the WhatsApp group for your region, reach out to Jonathan directly at jonathan@jonathanlevit.com with a short note about your performance background.
You'll do a brief test call to confirm you understand the script and the spirit of the work. Then you're in.
What if no Stranger picks up?
That's exactly what Auto Advance and recording fallback are for. The system rolls through every active Stranger in your region, then expands to nearby regions, then drops to a pre-recorded reveal that matches your card selection. The spectator never knows anything other than that the call was answered.
In practice, with ~10,000 magicians active across 47 regions, a live Stranger picks up the call almost every time.
Can I perform on TV, in a video, or online?
Live performance is welcome and encouraged. Performing the Stranger on television, in branded video content, on YouTube, on social media, or anywhere on the internet requires written permission from Jonathan first. This protects everyone — including you.
Reach out at jonathan@jonathanlevit.com before you record or broadcast and we'll get you sorted.
How does the 7-day trial work?
The app is free to download. From the moment you create an account, you have 7 days fully unlocked — every feature, every region, every recording. No card required to start.
After 7 days, you choose whether to keep it. If you do, you make a one-time purchase. If not, walk away. We trust the work to speak.
Does the Stranger work without internet?
Live Stranger calls require an active connection. Recordings work fully offline once downloaded — so even when you're on stage in a basement venue with no signal, you have a complete reveal system ready to go.
Best practice: always download the recordings for your performance set before any gig where reception might be uncertain.
How do I get help when something's wrong?
Email jonathan@jonathanlevit.com. You're not getting a ticket queue — you're reaching the developer who built the app, and who performs the Stranger himself every week.
For non-urgent questions, the WhatsApp group for your region and the private Facebook community are full of working performers who've usually seen your situation before.
